RMIT Active and Redbacks Branding
In 2024, RMIT Sport rebranded to RMIT Active, marking the department’s first major visual and operational refresh since 1997.
With a new identity came a lot of change. Logos, facility spaces, digital platforms, representative clubs and teams, uniforms, signage and more all needed to be rebranded under the new RMIT Active brand.
But the rebrand was about more than just changing our logo. It was about creating a stronger sense of identity and bringing our entire sporting and recreation community together under one cohesive look.
As part of the process, more than 50 unique Rupert the Redback logos were created with the support of RMIT Student Life’s Engagement team, giving each of our sporting and recreation clubs their own identity while still connecting them to the wider RMIT Active brand.
Each club was then provided with a personalised branding pack, along with 1-on-1 mentoring to help them understand the new brand, how it applied to their club and how they could confidently bring it to life.
As a result, we are now a more connected, recognisable and unified RMIT Active community.
