Last Saturday, I happened to be back at Aโ€™Beckett courts for King of the Court. exactly 3 years after shooting my first-ever big event there. It hit me how far Iโ€™ve come since those early days. Back then, I was just a 2nd year uni student. I was mesmerised by incredible athletes at a Slam Dunk contest & I remember the moment there when I realised that ๐’•๐’‰๐’Š๐’” was what I wanted to do.

At the time, I wasnโ€™t the greatest photographer, but I saw the vision for myself & never let go of it, even when others called me delusional for working countless hours for free. I knew it was all part of the journey.

Fast forward to today: Iโ€™m now the Head of Digital Engagement at RMIT Active, capturing content at events like King of the Court, & most rewarding of all, leading & mentoring a new generation of media students. Watching them light up with the same passion I had 3 years ago is one of the most fulfilling parts of this journey.

The takeaway? ๐‘ฉ๐’† ๐’…๐’†๐’๐’–๐’”๐’Š๐’๐’๐’‚๐’. Believe in the impossible, keep pushing, & when you do make it, share that success with others who are where you once were. At the top, weโ€™re all about collaboration, not competition.

You may have a long way to go, but you are already so far from where you used to be. Remember all you need is a little delusion & audacity & you can seriously do anything in this life.
