It's officially been my 6th season with RMIT BigV, so this thank you is well overdue.
I can't even begin to tell you all how important this club is to me.
I joined this RMIT Big V in 2021 as a volunteer photographer while studying RMIT. At the time, I was the worst photographer the league had ever seen. But, for some reason Tristian Angeles (Women's Head Coach) saw some potential in me and let me keep coming to games. Not only this, but during the 2022 season he handed over the Big V account to me and Miller. It was an ugly account back then!

A post made from the first year Miller and I ran the account! The growth from then to now has been unreal.
I fell in love with the Redbacks instantly. The culture, the passion - but, it was the sense of family that drew me back week after week.
I knew close to nothing about basketball to be honest and in the early years Tristian and Steve Coffey would sit down and teach me the rules. Specifically how to read a Stat Sheet as I would always bug them for help when creating my results and player of game posts.

I found this club at a time in my life where I was honestly really depressed. I was 18, trying to figure out how I was going to live my adult life while living with my spinal cord injury and ongoing health deterioration.
This club gave me back a sense of purpose in my life.
Vince and Tash Rovetto joined the Redbacks and suddenly our club went from good to amazing. They believed in me and my creative talent from the moment they met me.

Them & a lot of others Bruno, Steen, Jas, Stefan, Jono, Spencer…watched & supported me from the day 0 where I have grown from a volunteer to the Head of Media for the whole of RMIT Active.
I have taken on countless interns through the sports media program I run in hopes of giving students the same life changing experience I had.
I met Jimmy (James Worth) through the sports media program and not only did become an insanely talented media personnel but he also became like a brother to me. Someone I argue with, laugh with and get advice from.

I have laughed with many of them as well as shed a tear or two.
I have watched them play amazing games and watched them lose devastating ones.
A big part of being a part of a club is having all your teams win, but personally for me it’s the impact you’re having on peoples lives beyond the court that really counts.
RMIT has been that.
No matter where life takes us, we will always be able to look back & cherish these moments we all shared🕷️🖤
